Associate Data Engineer

Annapolis Junction, MD

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a Data Engineer for one of our PRIME CONTRACTS that offers exciting opportunities to support essential services and mission critical activities across the enterprise. Our mission supports the Government Corporate Management Services (CMS) by providing full life cycle support services through the sustainment, modernization, and transformation of the enterprise corporate applications. These applications are used across the government enterprise and are critical to the daily functions of thousands of users across acquisition, business, finance, HR, training, recruitment, program management, security, logistics and more. The selected candidate will join an existing team modifying existing systems to include the instrumentation and data elements necessary to support cross-system analytics. The role requires a self-motivated individual that is comfortable working in a team environment. The selected candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and testing the Master Data Management (MDM) solution technologies, developing data profiles of existing systems, performing data quality assessments, developing operation data models, identifying data cleansing and integration approaches, developing cleansing scripts, procedures and processes, implementing software and scripting solutions, and identifying recommended changes to be made to existing systems. The individual will be required to interact with the team to gather and define requirements, create and update documentation regarding the technical requirements, troubleshoot software problems and provide solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Six (6) years of experience in software development/engineering in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related discipline. Four (4) years of additional software development experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. 
  • Four (4) years of experience in data engineering and technical data analysis. 
  • Analyze data collections to identify and resolve data cleansing, consistency, and anomaly issues 
  • Design, develop, and implement analytics based on the latest industry standards and techniques for data engineering to answer business questions and perform business analysis  
  • Analyze, design, and implement data cleansing and coalescing approaches to bring together disparate collections of data for business analysis 
  • Identify, develop, and deploy new approaches to automate data analysis and utilize machine learning 
  • Identify, develop, and deploy software and scripts needed to collect business-relevant metrics based on enterprise data
  • Ability to utilize modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB to create representative and useful models of mission and business processes
