Junior COTS Integration Engineer

Annapolis Junction, MD

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a COTS Integration Engineer for one of our PRIME CONTRACTS that offers exciting opportunities to support essential services and mission critical activities across the enterprise. Our mission supports the Government Corporate Management Services (CMS) by providing full life cycle support services through the sustainment, modernization, and transformation of the enterprise corporate applications. As soon as an employee enters a customer facility, they touch one of these applications which are critical to the daily functions of thousands of users across acquisition, business, finance, HR, training, recruitment, program management, security, logistics and more.   • Join a team developing and configuring a COTS product – Clarity PPM – to provide modern program and portfolio management capabilities to the end users supporting mission critical functions.  
  • This position is part of a contractor-led team working collaboratively to configure a commercial product to meet specific functional requirements, engage with end users and deploy the new solution to the enterprise.  
  • Primary responsibilities will be to develop feature enhancements for the product. This is accomplished via programming in GEL (Jelly/Apache) scripting, SQL, SOAP, and REST APIs.
  • Write code in GEL scripting which is part of Apache and as a base in Java.
  • Develop SQL queries, stored procedures and functions. 
  • Test and review the work of peers.
  • Gather requirements. 
  • Work in a team environment leveraging Agile processes. 
  • Be willing to jump into new technologies
  • The position does not require existing experience with the specific COTS technology; however, the role requires quickly learning the commercial tool and being able to troubleshoot and analyze the database.

Required Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI with Polygraph 
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and have at least three (3) years of demonstratable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in heterogenous operating system environment. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • An industry recognized professional certification, as defined in the TTOs, may substitute as one (1) year experience. A Master's Degree in Computer Science, System Engineering or related field may substitute for two (2) years' experience.
  • Working knowledge of computer programming in any language
  • Experience working with web services  and service orientated architecture
  • Experience working with SQL  
  • Experience configuring a COTS product to meet specific functional requirements  
  • Willingness to learn new technologies 
  • Experience with scripting or any type

  • Experience working with Broadcom Clarity PPM product 
  • Experience or working knowledge of GEL scripts 
  • Experience working with RESTful services and APIs in general 
  • Experience with COTS products, or willingness to learn a COTS product

The estimated salary range for this position is between 175k-205k (annualized USD). This range reflects the typical pay for the role and is one part of the company's comprehensive compensation package. Actual salaries are influenced by several factors, such as location, the individual’s education, skills, experience, and competencies, as well as contract affordability and organizational needs.
