System Engineer

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a highly skilled System Engineer in the (St. Louis, MO or the Washington-Maryland Area) to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in collaborating with clients within the Intelligence Community and the Department of Defense to develop and implement GIS solutions that support mission success, enhance business impact, and contribute to the evolution of the ArcGIS platform. As a System Engineer, you will be responsible for providing operations and support (O&S) to the platform infrastructure, including tasks such as operating system upgrades/patching, upgrading and patching Esri platform component software, and manipulating AWS environments to scale VMs as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with clients to understand their mission requirements and challenges, and propose and implement GIS solutions that address critical needs
• Collaborate with the platform configuration team to support content management and display through scripting and platform configuration activities
• Provide operations and support to the platform infrastructure, including tasks such as operating system upgrades/patching, upgrading and patching Esri platform component software, and manipulating AWS environments to scale VMs as necessary
• Identify and implement new opportunities for the ArcGIS platform to broaden its impact on business and contribute to its evolution
• Proactively craft, propose, and implement configured solutions to enhance the ArcGIS platform's capabilities and address client challenges

Required Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Bachelor's degree in GIS, Computer Science, or a related field
• 8 years’ of proven experience
• Strong proficiency in GIS technology, with a focus on the ArcGIS platform
• Experience in providing operations and support to platform infrastructure, including Windows and Linux operating system upgrades/patching
• Familiarity with upgrading and patching Esri platform component software
• Knowledge of AWS environments and the ability to manipulate them to scale VMs based on user demand
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Desired Qualifications:

• Master's degree in GIS, Computer Science, or a related field
• Certification in GIS or related technologies
• Experience in platform configuration for content management and display
• Scripting skills for automating GIS tasks
• Familiarity with intelligence and defense community workflows and requirements
• Experience with other geospatial technologies and tools
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in GIS environments
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
