Java Backend Developer
St. Louis, MO
Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a skilled Java Backend Developer to join our team in (St. Louis, MO or the Washington-Maryland Area) developing and deploying robust backend technology to power modern web architectures. As a key contributor, you will play a crucial role in building responsive, interactive, data-driven experiences that support the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud services, Java EE, RESTful web services, and various middleware and server-side technologies. This position also involves providing API/SDK support to end users, particularly in ArcGIS SDK integration efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy backend technology to create secure, scalable, and highly reliable configurations
- Build responsive and interactive data-driven experiences
- Provide API/SDK support to end users, facilitating seamless integration with ArcGIS SDK
- Support GIS application development, troubleshooting COTS mapping and application creation tools, and addressing issues in low/no-code applications
- Troubleshoot external service access restrictions and implement effective solutions
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 8 years’ of proven experience in backend development with expertise in Amazon and Azure cloud services
- Strong proficiency in Java EE and RESTful web services
- Familiarity with new and upcoming middleware and server-side technologies
- Experience in supporting API/SDK integration efforts, particularly with ArcGIS SDK
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including Python, Java, and JavaScript/TypeScript
- Understanding of GIS application development principles and workflows
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Familiarity with ArcGIS libraries and other relevant geospatial technologies
- Knowledge of low/no-code application development tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and end users
- Certifications in relevant technologies or platforms
