Shanna: On Set, and On the Record
Now accepting applications for talent agents based in the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Area, Shanna stole the show (and the hearts of Americans) throughout season one of How [not] to Refer a Friend. Below she reveals her kid’s favorite episode, must-haves for an on set trailer, and some parting words on her method for referring people to Freedom Consulting Group.
Short and sweet. Tell us about your time with Freedom Consulting Group.
I’ve been happily employed, entertained, challenged, and appreciated by Freedom Consulting Group for almost eight years.
How extensive was your acting experience before this web series?
I haven’t acted much before this epic series, which now serves as my portfolio for all of the casting calls I’m attending for TV commercials.
Which episode do you think resonates most with employees?
My kids love the first one, “How [not] to Refer a Friend—Spirit.” They actually laugh out loud over and over again.
You’re casting an actress to play yourself (budget not an issue). Who do you choose?
Halle Berry!
What hesitates employees most about referrals? Have you too felt this way?
Approaching people and prying just enough information out of them to make sure that they’re a referral of quality is where most people become hesitant—but I never feel bad about asking people stuff.
I normally preface my digression into someone’s life by saying something like “I’m ultra-curious, and tell me to mind my own business if I’m prying, but how much is company XYZ paying you? Crappy benefits? How many kids do you have?”
Which of your costars shows the most promise for a future in acting?
They were all marvelous! But Norm is my “favorite” person (across the board).
What’re the critics saying? What feedback have you received from the How [not] to Refer a Friend web series?
Everyone says they’re funny AND that they’re not sure Halle could do it justice.
We’re getting you a trailer for next season. Three things you want stocked at all times.
Perrier water, toilet paper, and lip gloss!
