FCG is Ellicott City Strong
At Freedom Consulting Group, we believe in the power of community. Which is why when tragedy struck our beloved neighboring town, Historic Ellicott City, we answered the call without hesitation.
Our sold-out Paint Nite event was a huge success. It brought together community to support community; for every ticket sold, $15 was donated to the United Way of Central Maryland’s established fund for humanitarian relief in Ellicott City, and Freedom was honored to match those donations. We raised a total of $1,880, all of which went to supporting the people and businesses of Ellicott City.
The event, held at Nottingham’s in Columbia, brought over 60 attendees on the warm summer evening, all ready to sling some pigment and take their best shot at painting the iconic main street Ellicott City train bridge.
“We had groups from all over the community attend, including friends of FCG employees, people from the Intel community who heard about it through the grapevine, and others who just wanted to support Ellicott City,” Staffing Manager Kaitlin S. said. “It was great to see so many people from all over come together to support such an incredible cause.”
While the majority of the group painted the bridge scene from Historic Ellicott City, there was one table that “went rogue.” Think Batman and dragons. And the surprise Artist of the Evening award? It went to FCG’s Chief Technology Officer Scott Beall who, unbeknownst to most of the team, majored in art as an undergrad before switching gears to the computer science field. Take a look at Scott’s masterpiece. The man has skills.
At FCG, we believe in the power of community and the bond that can be formed with something as simple as the stroke of a brush. We give back because without community, we wouldn’t be who we are as a company today.
