BYCTWD Round-Up

You may have noticed a hoard of mini-Geeks roaming our halls a few weeks ago. Have no fear, you weren’t just seeing things! April 26 was Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day (what we like to call Bring Your Child to Work Day aka BYCTWD) and we had a blast with our group of little ones.

One of the main events of the day was a robot car creation contest. While all our kids are winners, the family team with the best working car was Jamie N and her kids, and the most decorative car belonged to Julie P’s daughter.

After the car-off, the kiddos made binary code bracelets with their names on it – a keepsake to show off their time here at FCG, as well as their eternal loyalty to the Geek-hood! We weren’t all business though; after our creative time, we walked to the lake across the street to enjoy the sunshine and pick some flowers.

The kids’ youthful outlook got us to thinking: What did FCGers want to be when they grew up? Here’s what they had to say.

“When I was little, I wanted to be a cowboy when I grew up,” Janet G said. Giddy up!

Patrick G said, “I wanted to be a deep-sea treasure hunter that scuba dives to find lost ships with lots of pirate booty! Rrrr!” Now that’s a wild imagination!

“When I was little, I wanted to be an actress,” said Mansi S.

“I wanted to be a scientist when I grew up,” Vaughn J said.

As for Joe L? “When I was little, I wanted to be a fireman.” Honorable, indeed.

No matter what our group of kiddos from BYCTWD end up being when they grow up, we know they’re destined for greatness. And even though our FCGers’ career paths may have turned out differently than they thought it would at a young age, we’re sure glad they’re where they are now.
