Christina D. gives insight on hot tech jobs in the #DMV
Our recruiting team is hard at work analyzing the DMV market everyday, creating connections with interested candidates, and studying the tech job market landscape. We caught up with our southern recruiter, Christina, for some wisdom on what’s happening with tech jobs in the DMV:
What is the job market like for the DMV area in IT consulting right now?
For government contractors supporting agencies in the DMV, the market is very competitive when it comes to IT contracting. With many options and resources, it’s currently a job seekers market should you boast some of the industry’s most relevant skills and a government security clearance.
The DMV is a large area to cover and find candidates and FCG has projects that are in different places. Where are you focusing on when hiring for FCG and what type of candidate?
It depends on the recruiting support needed. We are looking for the best talent with the right skill sets and required clearances from vast resume databases, social networks, and referrals. Once these resources have been sourced, we target specific groups, where the skill sets are specialized to our requirements, and work through all contacts for referrals. Of course, this approach can be tailored based on the support needed for FCG growth opportunities and customer deadlines.
We are looking for many different skill sets but the best way to view our current openings is on our career page: https://freedomconsultinggroup.com/careers/.
Does FCG only have openings in the geographic area you are focusing on?
Not necessarily; we have also seen occasional positions in other areas such as St Louis, MO. However, most of our positions focus on the MD, DC, and Northern VA areas.
Our FCG careers page does a great job of listing our openings and their corresponding locations.
What do you recommend to anyone interested in joining the FCG Team?
Go ahead and apply to the position or positions of interest to you on our website and connect with us on LinkedIn. Be sure to confirm your skill set meets the required section of the job description and you are well versed or familiar with the responsibilities listed.
We have to know, what do you love to geek out about?
Travel, there is nothing like experiencing new cultures and meeting wonderful people around the world.
