This summer, Team FCG was in attendance at the 2019 ESRI Users Conference (UC) held in San Diego, CA on July 8th – 12th. Since Freedom has been a partner with ESRI since 2004 and is a prior recipient of the ESRI Small Business of the Year Award, we were excited to get up close and personal with new technology with the system.
FCG’s team consisted of interns, entry level professionals, seasoned engineers and leadership, who were out in full force to learn about ESRI’s new and exciting capabilities. This year’s theme for ESRI UC was “See what Others Can’t,” which was a challenge statement to embolden users of ESRI’s products to discover and illuminate new ideas and information through the use of geospatial analysis tools, tradecraft, and experimentation. Our main focus at the conference was on the advancement of the ArcGIS Enterprise Platform, which is a platform that is highly utilized by some of our teams in the company. FCG is a key integrator of ESRI solutions and strives to bring the latest technologies available to our customers.
Some featured technologies at the 2019 ESRI UC included Streaming Data, IoT, Machine Learning, Python scripting with ArcGIS Notebooks (Jupyter), 3D CAD/BIM conversion, Meta Data and Content Management, Geo Database design, and field operations. The variety of capabilities exhibited during the conference and in workshops offered allowed Team FCG to participate in immersive hands-on learning activities and offered many opportunities for the team to network with ESRI representatives and industry partners.
As a wrap up to an awesome week in sunny San Diego, FCGers made sure to enjoy the local sights around town such as dinner in the famous Gas Lamp district, baseball games, golf, Balboa Park, and the beautiful Pacific Coast.
