Cloud Engineer

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a Cloud Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure to meet the organization's business requirements. This position involves working with various cloud platforms, deploying and optimizing cloud-based solutions, and ensuring the security, scalability, and reliability of cloud environments. This position is primarily remote with some onsite days. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Cloud Infrastructure Design and Deployment:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and design scalable and reliable cloud architectures
  • Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure, leveraging platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

• Automation and Scripting:

  • Develop automation scripts and templates for provisioning and configuring cloud resources
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to ensure consistency and repeatability in deployments

• Security and Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce security best practices for cloud environments
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents, conduct regular security audits, and ensure compliance with industry regulations

• Performance Optimization:

  • Monitor and optimize the performance of cloud resources to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Identify and implement solutions to improve the overall performance of applications hosted in the cloud

• Collaboration and Documentation:

  • Work closely with development teams, system administrators, and other stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide appropriate cloud solutions
  • Document architecture, processes, and procedures for maintaining and troubleshooting cloud environments

• Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay informed about the latest cloud technologies, trends, and best practices
  • Propose and implement improvements to existing cloud infrastructure based on evolving business needs and technological advancements

• Troubleshooting and Support:

  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and applications
  • Provide support for incidents and contribute to the development of incident response plans

Qualifications:

• TS/SCI with Poly
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role
• In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and associated services
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and automation tools
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and best practices for cloud environments
• Certification in relevant cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect) is a plus
