Publisher / Communications Officer

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a Publisher / Communications Officer to join our team and support an up-tempo, creative environment for an Intelligence Community (IC) customer located in Northern VA. Responsibilities:
- Provide communications consultation for the development and execution of the Sponsor’s communications and outreach strategies to include, but not limited to, messaging, tactics, timing, and metrics as part of an annual plan for the outreach
- Advise the Sponsor through requirements gathering and participating in working groups and forums to formulate communication and outreach products and services
- Conduct periodic surveys and direct interviews with consumers to gauge levels of satisfaction, usage, and/or usefulness with the Sponsor’s communications and/or outreach products and/or services
- Support the creation, development, and implementation of Sponsor-wide marketing communications and/or outreach, which reflect the Sponsor’s program focus areas and goals
- Research, identify and define content for incorporation into communications and/or outreach products and solutions to include, but not limited to, written documents, emails, announcements, online content, videos, graphics, posters, handouts, PowerPoint presentations/briefs, etc., as part of the overarching communications and outreach strategies
- Provide communications support for the design, development, and execution of the Sponsor’s communications, stakeholder management plan, and/or outreach strategies to include, but not limited to campaigning, messaging, tactic, timing, and metrics as part of an annual plan for OA outreach
- Develop, finalize, and implement the Sponsor’s strategic communications and outreach plans, to include establishing a messaging schedule
- Manage the Sponsor website for up-to-date content and make recommendations for areas of content update and renewal
- Collate information from internal and external sources to draft Sponsor news, announcements and content to share via the Sponsor website
- Draft articles to communicate Sponsor initiatives to the grater Sponsor’s workforce
- Provide copy-editing services to ensure communications and messages align to Sponsor style guide
- Create custom art and graphics for incorporation into learning products, briefings, posters, web pages, video products
- Propose creative alternatives to traditional communication channels and products
- Assist with planning, coordinating, publicizing, and creating multimedia products for Sponsor events such as The Internet Forum, technical fairs, roadshows, workshops, and on-site/off-site events
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, Journalism, Media Relations, or related fields
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in communications
- Experience writing press releases, reports, articles, etc.,
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong grammar, writing, and editing skills
- Excellent organizational skills and superb attention to detail to effectively plan and execute multiple events at the same time
- Ability to organize, write, and edit documents to appeal to specific and varied audiences
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to thin strategically
- Highly creative and innovative in identifying modes of communication strategies
- Working knowledge of web-publishing techniques
- Ability to exercise tact, diplomacy, excellent judgement, personal integrity, and absolute discretion
- Ability to work independently and effectively with personnel at all levels in a team environment
- Ability to develop plans and solutions to resolve problems and issues
- Ability to effectively plan workload, meet established deliverables, and manage competing priorities
- Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, multitasking environment and change focus quickly, with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction
- Relevant professional experience planning end-to-end executive level events (town halls, all hands, etc.)
