Systems Engineer

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a System Engineer that offers exciting opportunities to support essential services and mission critical activities across the enterprise. Telework available on an ad hoc basis! Our mission supports the Government Corporate Management Services (CMS) by providing full life cycle support services through the sustainment, modernization, and transformation of the enterprise corporate applications.   • Join a team modernizing an enterprise Corporate Management Information System that integrates services to achieve a reduction in the Unliquidated Obligation (ULO) cycle-time and increase efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements, bridging the gap between technical specifications and user needs.
  • Translate refined requirements into developer-friendly language for effective implementation.
  • Engage with end customers, providing support and addressing inquiries.
  • Manage project tasks using Jira and document processes in Confluence.
  • Develop and write user acceptance test (UAT) scripts to ensure product quality.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation for upgrades, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Troubleshoot system issues to maintain functionality and performance.
  • Acquire proficiency in PostgreSQL and PG Admin for database management.
  • Utilize Docker for seamless installation of new images.
  • Execute secure file transfers between different security levels.
  • Perform application reboots within the C2S environment for maintenance and troubleshooting.

Required Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and seven (7) years of experience as an SE. Eleven (11) years of SE experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
  • Strong project leadership skills to include identifying opportunities, risks and communicating with all levels of contractor and Government leadership.
  • Willingness to learn and develop strong understanding new technologies and products
  • Experience developing and updating technical documentation including project schedules
  • Experience with requirements management to include working with customers to capture clear definition of done
  • Must be able to work during core hours of 10:00am-2:00pm. Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • Experience managing systems in a virtual hosting environment including AWS 
  • Experience with PostgreSQL
  • Experience working with Docker for containerization

 

The estimated salary range for this position is between $150,000 and $170,000 (annualized USD). This range reflects the typical pay for the role and is one part of the company's comprehensive compensation package. Actual salaries are influenced by several factors, such as location, the individual’s education, skills, experience, and competencies, as well as contract affordability and organizational needs.
