Test Engineer
Chantilly, VA
Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking Test Engineers with various levels of experience (Junior–Senior and SME Levels) providing Sponsor support. Ideal candidates will be a self-motivated, independent worker who can also work in and contribute to a team environment supporting system and/or application testing in varying stages of deployment (from emerging technologies to legacy systems). As the technology stack expands and grows, testers may be required to work with developers to support performance/load testing to fully evaluate the application capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and develop comprehensive test plans and test cases
- Execute manual testing procedures to identify defects, validate functionality, and ensure compliance with specifications
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to streamline testing processes and increase test coverage
- Conduct regression testing to ensure that software changes have not adversely affected existing functionality

Analyze test results, provide clear and concise reports on testing progress, defects, and overall product quality
- Work closely with developers to isolate, reproduce, and debug issues found during testing
- Continuously improve testing strategies, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI with Poly
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
- 3 - 20 years of related professional experience
- Software testing experience
- Understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices
- Evaluate developer assignments, understand requirements, and engineer tests to evaluate best path scenario as well as probe for possible failure conditions
- Writing and executing test plans, cases, procedures, scripts, and scenarios
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
- Maintaining and updating test environments
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Desired Qualifications:

Certification in software testing (ISTQB Certified Tester)
- Knowledge of testing technologies (Selenium WebDriver, Katalon Studio and Cucumber)
- Knowledge of testing frameworks (Junit, Mockito, Swagger, Postman Selenium, Cypress, JMeter, and Win App)
- Knowledge of Source code management and integration (GitHub/GitLab and Jenkins)
- Knowledge of testing tools (Jenkins and Git CI/CD)
- Programming/scripting languages (HTML, Java, Node, and JavaScript)
- IDE to code (IntelliJ, Eclipse, and NetBeans)
- Cloud platforms (AWS and Azure)
- Interacting in a Linux environment (Bash scripting and VI)
- Agile methodologies and tools (Jira and Confluence)
- SQL queries for data validation (Oracle and Postgres)
