Senior Principal Systems Engineer

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a Senior System Engineer for one of our PRIME CONTRACTS that offers exciting opportunities to support full lifecycle development for enterprise business systems, services and software. Our team supports the Corporate Management Services (CMS) organization by providing full life cycle support services through the sustainment, modernization, and transformation of 100 applications utilizing FOSS, COTS and GOTS solutions that support tens of thousands of users across the globe. The selected candidate will provide lead system engineering support to a team with diverse skillsets dedicated to providing comprehensive solutions in Space and Property Management, Asset Management, Transportation Management, and Project Support. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent leadership abilities, and a proven track record in systems engineering within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Provide systems engineering project leadership to a team with diverse roles and skills conducting software development with FOSS, COTS, GOTS.
- Take initiative to develop a technical understanding of the applications, technologies and stakeholders currently within scope of the TTO
- Work with respective product leads, Government leadership and the development teams to establish priorities, ensure good agile processes are in place, communicate with team members, the Government and stakeholders.
- Work with Government leadership and the technical teams to prepare roadmaps, communicate and manage dependencies, impediments, and risks
- Deliver Weekly Activity Reports (WARs) and other deliverables, as required, to the Government.
- Evaluate existing systems to understand and document capabilities and conduct analysis of alternatives (AoA) to identify and recommend efficiencies or new solutions
- Provide routine communication to the Freedom Program Management Team on status, concerns and successes.
Required Qualifications:
- TS/SCI with Polygraph
- A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and twenty (20) years' experience as an SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Twenty (25) years’ SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
- Experience implementing and transitioning teams to agile development methodologies
- Proficiency in evaluating products, assessing redundancies in applications and performing analysis of alternatives.
- Initiative to learn and develop strong understanding of current technologies and products
- Experience developing roadmaps, project schedules and generating technical documentation
- Experience with requirements and scope management to include working with customers to capture clear definition of done.
- Willingness to tackle challenges sometimes without a lot of guidance or information, and collaborating in a fast-paced, highly visible team environment.

Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of specific technologies related to space management and asset management.

The estimated salary range for this position is between $230,000 and $270,000 (annualized USD). This range reflects the typical pay for the role and is one part of the company's comprehensive compensation package. Actual salaries are influenced by several factors, such as location, the individual’s education, skills, experience, and competencies, as well as contract affordability and organizational needs.
