Solutions Architect

Columbia, MD

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Intelligence Community Solutions Architect to join our team in supporting our classified government customers. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud technologies, systems engineering principles, and requirements analysis. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative solutions that address complex technical challenges while adhering to strict security standards. The ideal candidate will also lead teams of solutions architects and SMEs in tailoring and codifying technical solutions for the USG market.

Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate complex business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Solution Architecture: Design and develop robust and scalable solutions, including cloud-based architectures, system integrations, and data pipelines.
  • Systems Engineering: Apply systems engineering principles to ensure the overall integrity and performance of solutions.
  • Cloud Expertise: Leverage your knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) to design and implement cloud-native solutions.
  • Security Compliance: Adhere to strict security protocols and regulations, including those governing classified information.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Represents the company as a technical SME for conferences, panels and tech talks
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Documentation: Create clear and concise technical documentation, including system design documents, operational procedures, branded solutions, and security plans.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 15+ years of experience in systems engineering, cloud architecture, or software development
  • 10+ years as an engineer, technical advisor and trusted partner to the Intelligence Community
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing principles and technologies
  • Experience with systems engineering methodologies and tools
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience providing technical content for white papers, briefings, and RFI and RFP responses

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Certified Solutions Architect)
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS)
  • Experience assessing emerging and evolving technologies to recommend a vision/strategy for leveraging technology to meet future business needs
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams throughout various phases of the program lifecycle

Additional Information:

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
  • The ability to work in a classified environment is mandatory. A percentage of the candidate's time will be supporting on site contracts.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Position Salary range: $270k-$295k and 20% annual bonus target
